Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, president Florentino Perez and general director Jose Angel Sanchez, on Wednesday, held crunch talks to make decisions ahead of the new season.
Marca reports that as a result, Gareth Bale is likely to remain at the Bernabeu this summer.
Bale has been frozen out of the team since Zidane’s return in March and admitted he would be happy to run down his contract in Madrid.
However, in a surprising U-turn, Madrid have decided to make the most of the Welshman, who signed a deal until 2022.
Zidane, Perez and Sanchez also discussed the possibility of signing Paul Pogba.
The LaLiga giants will step up their pursuit of the Manchester United midfielder if they can offload James Rodriguez.
Rodriguez has been granted an extended summer break, after competing in the Copa America with Colombia and is set to return to training on July 29.
