Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has hailed Nicolas Pepe as “a very good player”, following their 2-1 defeat to Lyon in the Emirates Cup on Sunday.
The Gunners took the lead in the first half, after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang volleyed in Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cross.
However, Unai Emery’s men to extend their lead and allowed the Ligue 1 side back into the game.
Moussa Dembele headed in Memphis Depay’s cross, before finishing coolly past Bernd Leno.
Arsenal are reportedly close to sealing a club-record transfer for Pepe and Emery, speaking after the game, said: “Pepe is a very good player and we are only thinking of players to improve this squad.”
