Barcelona have told Neymar to join up with Paris Saint-Germain for the beginning of pre-season, Sport reports.
The Brazilian forward had planned to embark on a strike, to force through a return to the Nou Camp.
Neymar left Paris at the end of May and was hoping that both clubs would have reached an agreement before now.
But negotiations are still on and Barca do not want Neymar to upset PSG, by failing to show up for the start of the new season.
Neither Barcelona nor Neymar have gone public about the possible transfer to keep PSG happy, with the 27-year-old also hoping to keep his focus on Brazil’s Copa America campaign.
He is also currently recovering from an ankle injury he picked up prior to the tournament.
