Transfer: Unai Emery takes final decision on selling Aubameyang to Man United

Arsenal boss, Unai Emery has insisted that the club will not sell their top attacker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

A former Arsenal goalkeeper, Jens Lehmann had claimed that the Gunners should consider selling the Gabonese international striker in order to raise funds and help rebuild the squad.

Premier League rivals, Manchester United have been heavily linked with Aubameyang but Emery has insisted that is not an option as far as he is concerned even though money is tight for new signings.

Gunners told post match press conference, “(It is) not really in our mind. Not really. We are very happy with Aubameyang and we don’t want to sell him.”

Arsenal have two top class strikers with Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette which has opened the debate of selling one to help strengthen the defence or midfield.

Emery added, “They compliment each other very good but they can play both, they were playing both and sometimes we are playing one striker or two strikers and another moment with one winger, and one winger.

“We have a very big possibility with different options with Aubameyang because he can play like a lone striker, like a striker with two and can play on the right wing and the left wing.

“But, above all, we want to be very, very aggressive in the attacking third and also with moving forward to score with him and when we are deciding to play with another player maybe they are more one to one winger, one to one left or right, or maybe like Mesut (Ozil).”
