West Brom have made a N1.14billion (2.5 million pounds) bid for Super Eagles and Rotherham United midfielder, Semi Ajayi.
According to The Sun, the Championship club are interested in signing the former Arsenal U23 captain from Rotherham in this summer’s transfer window.
The newspaper is reporting that the Baggies’ coach, Slaven Bilic has already told the club’s board to sign Ajayi this summer in a bid to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
Ajayi is keen on leaving Rotherham United this summer after the club was relegated to the third tier of English football at the end of last campaign.
The 25-year-old was dropped from the Super Eagles’ final 23-man squad for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Egypt.
He also expressed disappointment over the decision of Nigeria’s head coach, Gernot Rohr, to drop him from the Super Eagles’ squad for the 2019 AFCON.
“Wishing my brothers the best of luck at the upcoming #AFCON 2019,” Ajayi wrote on Instagram in June this year.
“It’s been a privilege to have been part of this squad and as much as I’m gutted that I can’t make it, I wish everyone linked with the Super Eagles the very best of luck this summer.
“I will be supporting the team until the end. Go and make Nigeria proud my brothers.”
