Transfer: Solskjaer reveals what will happen if Man Utd fail to land his targets

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has insisted he “won’t bear grudges”, if the club doesn’t deliver his transfer targets.

Solskjaer is rebuilding his squad this summer and has already brought Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

However, the Norwergian is trying to bring in a centre back, with the Red Devils heavily linked with Leicester City’s Harry Maguire.

United have so far had two bids rejected, with the Foxes holding out for at least £80million for the 26-year-old.

Solskjaer, speaking with reporters in Singapore, says he won’t be angry if he does not get the players he wants.

“My job is of course to manage the circumstances and the squad that I’ve got.

“But people will tell you I’m not angry for very long. The players know when I am angry but we get it sorted and move on and sorted and move on and I’m the same with my kids.

“Of course I have my targets – but I won’t bear grudges if I don’t get them. The club know my views on what we need,” he said.

Solskjaer added: “For me it’s natural to leave negotiations and that side of the business to the ones who have that responsibility.

“My responsibility now is to manage the players and to give my view on which players could improve us which I have done.

“I’m quite patient and quite understanding because I know it’s difficult to get transfers over the line these days.

“It’s a different market – there’s so much money in football nowadays. The money now is unreal.”
