Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has kicked against the club’s plan to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham Hotspur and wants to keep Paul Pogba instead, the Evening Standard reports.
Pogba has made it clear that he wants to leave United this summer, with both Real Madrid and Juventus interested in signing him.
Eriksen is on United’s shortlist of replacements, but Solskjaer’s preference is to keep the France international at Old Trafford.
It is also understood that Solskjaer wants United’s hierarchy to sign two central midfielders, before the end of the transfer window.
Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff and Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes are both on the Norwegian’s radar.
Eriksen has one year left on his Spurs’ deal and has been linked with Real Madrid.
