Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri has finally decided to keep midfielder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek at the club this season.
Loftus-Cheek, who cut short his World Cup holiday to try and impress Sarri, has been linked with a loan move away from Stamford Bridge.
According to the Telegraph, Sarri wants to give the England international an opportunity to stay at the West London club and fight his way into the Italian gaffer’s first-team plans.
Loftus-Cheek came on as a substitute against Huddersfield in Chelsea’s 3-0 Premier League victory last weekend.
Speaking about Loftus-Cheek before the start of the 2018-19 season, Sarri said, “He’s potentially a great player.
“He has to improve from a tactical point of view but I think it’s not a problem.
“He is very young, he can be a very useful player for us.”
