Transfer: Real reason Dybala’s move to Man Utd collapsed

Manchester United’s move for Paulo Dybala broke down, over a row over his image rights and a demand for £15million to negotiate the purchase of them, SportsMail reports.

United were hoping to sign Dybala in exchange for Romelu Lukaku.

But the Juventus forward was unable to agree to terms with the Premier League side, despite being told he had no future in Turin.

Dybala’s image rights are owned by a third party and United were keen to get them as part of the deal.

However, the Red Devils were not willing to pay the £15m that his agent Jorge Antun wanted as a commission, to negotiate the image rights.

Antun also asked for that fee without authorisation from the company that own Dybala’s image rights, which was not part of any agreement.

United chiefs were planning to fly out and try to thrash out a deal, but decided against it after finding out about the fee to Antun.
