Transfer: Real Madrid top midfielder speaks after signing for Chelsea

Chelsea’s new signing, Mateo Kovacic, has expressed delight after joining the Europa League champions on a permanent basis.

Chelsea signed the Croatian international on a permanent basis from Real Madrid after he spent the 2018/2019 season on loan at Stamford Bridge.

He took to his Twitter handle on Thursday to thank the fans and promised to make them happy.

He tweeted, “I am delighted and honoured to stay in this amazing club @ChelseaFC after signing a permanent deal!

“I wish to say big thanks to the fans and their support during my first season in London.

“It helped me a lot and I hope we will all have plenty to be happy about in the future.”
