Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, has finally decided not to allow captain, Serigo Ramos, leave the Santiago Bernabeu for a club in the Chinese Super League this summer’s transfer window.
DAILY POST had reported that Ramos is set to leave Real Madrid after clashing with the club’s president, Florentino Perez, on several occasions.
Perez said Ramos and his agent told him they had received ‘a very good offer from China’, adding that the Los Blancos refused the centre-back’s request.
The 72-year-old said that Real Madrid will not allow the 33-year-old Spain international to leave Bernabeu for free as that would set a terrible precedent for other players.
“They (Ramos and his agent) came to see me in my office and told me they had a very good offer from China but the league rules over there wouldn’t permit them to pay the transfer fee,” Perez told radio station, Onda Cero.
“What was I going to tell him? We said this couldn’t happen but we’d speak to the club to satisfy him but that Real Madrid could not afford to let its captain leave for free as that would set a terrible precedent for other players,” he said.
