Barcelona midfielder, Ivan Rakitic will likely leave the club to join Premier League giants, Chelsea, at the end of the season.
Sport reports that Chelsea are willing to sign Rakitic in the summer as they look to finally fill the void created by midfielder Cesc Fabregas, who left Stamford Bridge a few days ago to sign for Monaco.
The Catalan newspaper claimed that Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, has already expressed his desire to bring in a new midfielder to provide cover and competition for Jorginho.
Meanwhile, Rakitic is expected to fall down the pecking order at Barcelona when midfielder, Frenkie de Jong arrives at Camp Nou from Ajax.
De Jong signed a five-year-deal with Barcelona for €75 million (£65 million) last week.
Asked if De Jong’s arrival could force him out from Barcelona, Rakitic said at the Mundo Deportivo gala on Monday night: “That’s a good question for the ‘Mister’ [manager] or the ‘Presi [president].
“I am 30-year-old and I am in the best moment of my career. I want to enjoy football and enjoy Barca.”
