Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique says he would be ‘very happy’ if the club can manage to lure Paul Pogba away from Manchester United before the deadline of the transfer window.
Clubs in Spain still have until the end of August to sign players, and the France international has been heavily linked to Barça after reports emerged that he is unhappy with life at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.
Despite United stating that Pogba will not be allowed to leave, Pique said he would welcome him to Camp Nou with open arms.
“I don’t know about his relationship with Mourinho,” Spanish newspaper Sport quoted Pique.
“We’ll see in the future, but we would be very happy to see Pogba in Barca’s shirt.”
Speaking further, he said, “Pogba is a very good player, but he is a Manchester United player right now, and we’ll see if anything happens in the future.
“We would be happy to have him here, but Manchester United is his club and, if someone has to say something, it must be them.”
