Transfer news: Why Wenger has not sanctioned Alexis Sanchez’s move to Man City

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is yet to sanction Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to Manchester City, because he has not landed a replacement.

City have held discussions with the Gunners, but have been told they want to get a deal done before they will sanction any move.

Wenger is keen on Bordeaux’s £45m-rated Brazilian forward Malcolm and is believed to have held talks with the French club.

However, he is also looking at other targets like Monaco’s Thomas Lemar and Paris Saint-Germain forward, Julian Draxler.

City have not made a formal offer, but it is believed they want to pay around £20m for Sanchez, while Arsenal want £30m.

Arsenal however fully expect Sanchez to go this month.
