Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has confirmed that Konstantinos Mavropanos, will be the club’s first signing in the January transfer window.
The 20-year-old Greek defender is set to complete a move from PAS Giannina.
When asked about the deal following Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea on Wednesday, Wenger said: “Yes but he’s not ready to play for us, we’ll give him out on loan.”
The deal is reportedly worth about £2million and that would likely see Mavropanos sent on loan to Werder Bremen.
Mavropanos impressed in his first full season in the Greek league, scoring three goals in 14 appearances.
