Transfer news: Unai Emery makes decision on Jack Wilshere’s future with Arsenal

Arsenal manager, Unai Emery wants midfielder, Jack Wilshere to stay at the Emirates club.

Wilshere, who will be a free agent at the end of this month, has been linked with a move away from the North London club.

The Gunners have already offered England international a new deal but he is yet to strike an agreement with the club and could leave this summer.

According to The Sun, UK, Emery is determined to ensure that the 26-year-old stays at the club and will try to convince him to snub interest from Juventus this week as the pair are set for talks.

It claimed that the former PSG boss will lay out his vision for the midfielder and Arsenal, hoping this will have a positive effect on Wilshere’s desire to remain in at the Gunners.

Speaking about his future last month, Wilshere told Sportsmail: “I wasn’t getting in the Arsenal team and the manager said I could leave if I wanted to.

“He also said that if I did stay I had an opportunity to fight for my place, and if I performed well in the Carabao Cup and Europa League, I had a chance.

“It was boiling up for a while because everybody knew I had a year left on my deal and I had been out on loan, got injured, and wasn’t really in his plans.

“He said, ‘I am going to be honest with you. At the moment we are not going to be offering you a contract, so if you can get a contract somewhere else, you can go”.
