Transfer news: Pedro speaks on his future with Chelsea

Chelsea forward, Pedro Eliezer Rodríguez Ledesma, has addressed reports linking him with a move away from Chelsea this summer after a tough season at Stamford Bridge and World Cup snub.

The Spain international was not a regular starter under manager Antonio Conte during the 2017-18 campaign, and he was consequently overlooked by his country.

But the 30-year-old, however, said he’s likely to stay at the West London club this summer despite witnessing a frustrating season that cost him a shot at a place in Spain’s 2018 World Cup squad.

“Obviously I have a contract at Chelsea and most likely I will stay. I’m good here,” Pedro told Cadena SER.

“I’m very comfortable with my team-mates and, in football terms I’m very happy for having won the Premier League and the FA Cup in three years. I’m happy because it’s always difficult to win trophies in England.

“I’m enjoying my holidays right now, getting some rest and spending time with family and then start the new season in the best way.”

Pedro added: “It was difficult and very unlikely because of how the season had gone.

“I think he was right in that decision. I have appeared less for the team this year and evidently the best players have to go at all times.”
