Manchester United have completed the signing of Slovakian Martin Svidersky on a three-year-deal.
United saw off interest from Premier League rivals, Chelsea and Liverpool to sign the 15-year-old midfielder on a three-year deal.
Svidersky who had been at Slovakian outfit Presov, has had trials with United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Celtic, Manchester City, Inter Milan and Dortmund.
However, United saw off competition from up to six clubs to sign the midfielder on a deal until 2021 and he’s expected to link up with Kieran McKenna’s U18 squad for next season.
United’s academy has been on a recruitment drive in the last 18 months since the appointment of Nicky Butt gave the club renewed focus.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement and the turbulence surrounding the club meant United’s academy stood still but Butt has brought a fresh energy to the role.
