Liverpool FC have decided to battle rival, Arsenal for Monaco star, Thomas Lemar, Daily Mail, UK, reports.
According to the report, Liverpool have their heart set on the 22-year-old, but are likely to wait until the end of the season to make their move.
The Reds were linked with the winger after selling Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona at the start of the month.
Arsenal are also keen to sign Lemar though the Gunners’ main priority is securing Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Meanwhile, speaking at the start of the month, Monaco’s manager, Leonardo Jardim insisted Lemar would be staying put until the summer at the earliest.
“Monaco are not in the habit of making big sales in the winter. It’s our strategy,” Jardim told reporters.
“The players understand and they know how it goes here.”
Lemar is expected to leave Monaco in the summer.
