Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has admitted he is not sure if they will sign Edin Dzeko from Roma this month.
The Blues are in the market for a new striker, with Dzeko tipped to follow his team-mate Emerson Palmieri to Stamford Bridge.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Conte refused to give assurances on a move for the Bosnian.
“I don’t know, as you know, if there’s news,” Conte said.
“The club will inform you.”
Conte then added that he is prepared to utilise the youth team if players leave this month.
“As you know very well, after this question about Kenedy [joining Newcastle].
“I said then if the club decides to loan one play they decide to buy another player or we decide to work with a young player like Dujon Sterling, I am ready for both cases,” he added.
