Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has said that he can only recommend players to the board and then they try to do their best.
Conte was responding to questions about the Blues getting striker Olivier Giroud from Arsenal, before the January transfer window slams shut on Wednesday night.
“I give my opinion to the club and then they try to do their best in the transfer market. But we are talking about players of other teams and must continue to have respect,” he said.
The Italian also spoke on Michy Batshuayi, who has been linked with a loan move to Borussia Dortmund, as replacement for Arsenal-bound Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Batshuayi is in Chelsea’s squad to play Bournemouth in the Premier League on Wednesday.
“Is it difficult to prepare for a game when you don’t know if a player like Batshuayi might not actually be playing? Yes. Yes, for sure, it’s not the best situation in which to prepare the game.
“A league game against Bournemouth. But there are these type of situations. You must be prepared to face them and prepare the game. For sure, it hasn’t been easy to prepare the game in this way.
“But, for sure, in this type of situation, the coach has to speak with the player, no? With the player involved in this type of situation. It’s not simple, this situation with Batshuayi. There is only one day.
“It’s not the best situation for me or the player but, as you know very well, the transfer market in January is not simple. To find a solution for players coming in and going out. But the player knows very well the situation.
“Today he trained well and I prepared the game with him. But you don’t know what will happen tonight or tomorrow. We must be ready to face every situation. It’s not the best situation to face, but we have to face it,” Conte added.
