Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal with Premier League Champions, Chelsea to sign Michy Batshuayi on loan.
Borussia Dortmund are in the market for a new striker as they have now decided to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal for £60million, plus bonuses.
Dortmund had demanded Olivier Giroud as part of that deal but the French striker has opted to stay in London.
A source told Bild that Aubameyang’s transfer is set to be announced on Monday and Dortmund have already secured a replacement in Batshuayi.
The newspaper said that the Belgium international will join the Bundesliga club on loan for the remainder of the season.
Batshuayi has struggled to secure a regular role at Stamford Bridge since arriving in a £33m deal from Marseille in the summer of 2016.
The 24-year-old scored twice in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Newcastle United in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday, but after the match, Blues manager, Antonio Conte admitted that he was unsure if the striker would remain at the club.
He said, “If the club decides to add another player, then, I don’t know if Michy wants to stay, or wants to go on loan.
“In this case it would be the player’s decision, not my decision.”
