Transfer news: Chelsea ‘agrees’ personal terms with Antonio Conte’s replacement

Chelsea have agreed personal terms with former Paris Saint-Germain coach, Laurent Blanc to take over from Antonio Conte, Sport Italia reports.

According to the Italy newspaper, Chelsea and Blanc have come to terms, but the Blues are holding off making an official announcement.

It also claims that the West London club are in talks with several candidates, including Italian Maurizio Sarri and Fulham boss, Slavisa Jokanovic, but are edging closer to appointing Blanc.

Blanc has not managed any club since leaving PSG in 2016, but is now ready to resume his coaching career.

The Frenchman is now putting together his backroom staff as he looks forward to take over at Stamford Bridge.

His appointment as the new manager will see the exit of Antonio Conte after just two seasons at Stamford Bridge.

Conte won the Premier League in his first campaign, and the FA Cup in his second, but has had a drastic falling out with the club’s hierarchy in the last 12 months.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Blanc revealed that he would be open to a move to the Premier League.

“Every coach is attracted by the Premier League,” Blanc said.

“It is the best league and with the financial power, that will still be the case for years to come.”

“I know I’m fussy, only a big club would interest me. If not, I’ll face facts and think of something else.”
