Transfer news: Aubameyang expected in London for Arsenal medicals

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is expected to travel to London by today, to undergo his medicals with Arsenal and complete a 55million move to the Emirates.

The Gunners agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund for the Gabon striker on Monday, but are seeking a replacement before they officially sanction the move.

According to reports to Germany, Dortmund are closing on Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on a six-month loan deal. There is no agreement with the Blues yet and they might yet turn to Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud.

With the German transfer window closing midday on Wednesday, the Bundesliga club are expected to bring in one of the two strikers and give Aubameyang permission to leave.

Aubameyang will become Arsenal’s record signing, as well as the highest-paid player in their history.

He will sign a £180,000-a-week three-and-a-half year deal.

Aubameyang is also expected to take the no. 14 shirt vacated by Theo Walcott and previously worn by Thierry Henry.
