Transfer news: Arsenal in race to sign Pavon, Walcott set to join Everton

Arsenal have entered the race to sign Cristian Pavon from Boca Juniors.

The Mail reports that the Gunners have made enquiries about signing the 21-year-old this month.

Boca inserted a £27million release clause in Pavon’s contract, which could also be triggered by Liverpool and Manchester City.

It is believed Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is looking to Pavon to replace Alexis Sanchez, who will join Manchester City in a matter of days.

Theo Walcott is however on his way out of the Emirates, with the Mail claiming Everton will pay £20m for the England forward.

Sam Allardyce is hopeful of beating off interest from Walcott’s former club Southampton, due to their ability to come close to matching his £110,000-per-week wages.
