Arsenal are locked in talks with Sevilla over midfielder Steven N’Zonzi.
France Football reports that although the player has a €40m release clause in his contract, the Gunners are trying to lower his asking price.
N’Zonzi played under new Arsenal boss, Unai Emery, before the coach left for Paris Saint-Germain.
The 29-year-old was a regular during Emery’s time at Sevilla, scoring four goals in 47 games.
He was also a member of their Europa League-winning side.
However, when asked about a potential reunion with N’Zonzi earlier this month, Emery said: “I know him but we haven’t made a move for him.”
