Henrikh Mkhitaryan is set to leave Arsenal on a one-year loan to Roma, according to Sky Italia.
The Armenia midfielder came on as a substitute in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur and was widely criticized for his ineffective cameo.
Roma will have an option to buy at the end of the deal in June 2020.
Having signed from Manchester United in a swap deal with Alexis Sanchez in January 2018, Mkhitaryan has struggled to make an impact at the Emirates under Arsene Wenger or his successor, Unai Emery.
Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, will now promote Gabriel Martinelli, Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe to take Mkhitaryan’s place in the squad.
