Manchester United target, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, has expressed his desire to join Chelsea instead.

The Red Devils have tracked the Serbian international for the last 12 months and held preliminary talks with Lazio in April over a move to Old Trafford.

The Serie A giants wanted to sell the player for around £100 million and were unwilling to sanction his departure before the World Cup.

The Independent, UK, reports that the midfielder now wants a transfer to Chelsea instead.

However, Chelsea’s chances of signing the midfielder could hinge on the club’s ability to keep Eden Hazard.

The Belgian wants to join Real Madrid but Chelsea insist they will not listen to bids for the winger, despite Madrid’s readiness to pay upwards of £160m.

Should Hazard hand in a transfer request, he could force through a move to the Bernabeu and Chelsea would be more willing to sanction a deal for Milinkovic-Savic.

Chelsea have already signed Jorginho for £52m from Napoli but Maurizio Sarri will be given the necessary funds to return the club to the top four.
