Transfer: Manchester United finally offer Martial to Chelsea for Willian

Manchester United have made a U-turn, and have agreed to offer Anthony Martial to Chelsea in return for Willian.

United hierarchy had earlier opted out of the deal due to the age bracket between the two stars.

Martial has been linked with an exit from the club after being publicly reprimanded by United boss, Jose Mourinho.

He had also refused to fly back to the team’s pre-season tour in the United States following the birth of his child.

Mirror reports that both players are consensually valued at around £75m which will facilitate a swap deal.

Martial returned to training at Carrington on Friday morning and has been included in the United squad for the final pre-season friendly against Bayern Munich.

Meanwhile, Willian irritated new Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri by arriving back late from his post- World Cup break because of passport issues.

The report claims Chelsea are cautious to avoid a repeat of Nemanja Matic’s move to Old Trafford for which they were criticised by fans and experts.

However, they would be getting the better end of this deal considering Martial is seven years younger to Willian.
