Transfer: Man Utd to make De Gea world highest-paid goalkeeper

Writer: AdminAdmin

Manchester United goalkeeper, De Gea looks set to stay at the club, after he was offered a new £350,000-a-week contract, the UK Times reports.

The Spain international’s current deal is set to expire at the end of next season, which means United could lose their first-choice goalkeeper on a free transfer next summer.

The Red Devils are unwilling to meet De Gea’s wage demands, as the 28-year-old had demanded parity with the team’s top earner, Alexis Sanchez, who earns £400,000 a week before bonuses.

But senior officials have taken a major step forward, by improving their contract offer to De Gea, who currently earns £200,000 a week.

The proposed five-year deal would make De Gea the highest-paid goalkeeper in the world.

De Gea has attracted strong interest from Paris Saint-Germain, but United are not keen on selling him this summer.
