Transfer: Man Utd’s move for £90million EPL star on verge of collapse

Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers has insisted that Harry Maguire is not close to leaving the club for Manchester United.

Maguire has emerged as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top summer transfer target.

The Foxes have rejected two bids for the England defender and are holding out for around £90million although United are reluctant to go above £70m.

That has left the 26-year-old in limbo with one week to go in the transfer window as he faces being priced out of a move.

Rodgers maintained that the club are yet to receive a suitable offer for the defender.

“As of this day, the valuation for Harry hasn’t been met that would trigger any communication with the player and the other club. There’s no change.

“For me, Top, John Rudkin [director of football] and Susan Whelan [chief executive] are doing a great job in relation to that.

“The club hasn’t changed its stance in terms of the valuation for the player,” Rodgers told BBC Leicester Sport.
