Former Arsenal star, Adrian Clarke has criticised Manchester United’s decision to sign Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
Clarke slammed Maguire by saying that the England international was not even the best defender at Leicester.
He also said that the centre-back was overpriced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, adding that former Red Devil defender, Jonny Evans is better than Maguire.
DAILY POST had earlier reported that Maguire has been filmed arriving at Manchester United’s Carrington training camp to complete his medical.
Man United agreed on a £80million deal with Leicester City for Maguire on Friday, subject to the 26-year-old passing a medical.
“Maguire is overpriced by around £25m at least, if not more than that,” Clarke told talkSPORT.
“I see him as a good defender, but I certainly don’t see him as a great defender.
“I’d even argue that Jonny Evans, the man Manchester United disposed of and the man he was partnering last year at Leicester, is a better defender than Harry Maguire.”
