Transfer: Lille president reveals when Pepe’s move to Arsenal would be announced

Lille president, Gerard Lopez, has said that Nicolas Pepe’s move to Arsenal, should be made official within 24 hours.

Pepe was in London on Tuesday to undergo his medicals, sort out his contract and take part in a photoshoot with the Gunners. 

However, the Gunners are yet to make an announcement, despite several images of the player in his new kit getting leaked on social media.

Lopez, speaking with RMC, has given an update on the transfer.

“He is the one who made the decision, I think it should be [made official] in the next 24 hours. It is €80m fixed.

“If we pushed this deal out a little bit longer, we could have had five or six offers of the same size.

“Through discussions with Nico and his agents, things focused on the certain clubs that we wanted to focus on, the two projects that interested the player,” he said.
