Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has ruled out the possibility of his side signing a new central defender this January transfer window.
According to Klopp, Liverpool will not be signing a new centre-back this month.
The Reds’ boss stated this ahead of Liverpool’s FA Cup fixture against Wolves on Monday night.
Asked if Liverpool will sign a new centre-back this January, Klopp was quoted by Metro UK as saying: “We will see what we do.
“But we cannot, we will not sign a centre-back for one game or whatever, that will not happen.”
Klopp added: “Joe and Joel look good – obviously not good enough for Monday, not good enough I would say for the game after that, for Brighton, [but] hopefully then they are at least in full team training.
“It’s a disgrace and a lack of class!’ ‘I think for Joel it would be possible, for Joe at least there’s a little hope that it can be the same, so we will see. Joe had a good day, a very good day [on Friday], so that’s good.’ Liverpool’s next game is against Wolves on Monday night in the FA Cup.”
