Transfer: Juventus plot mega swoop for another Real Madrid star

Seria A giants, Juventus will in 2019 try and sign Real Madrid vice-captain, Marcelo.

According to Italian newspaper, Tuttosport, Juventus did not move for Marcelo this summer due to fiscal reasons.

The club did not want to spend more than they can sell and, with defender, Alex Sandro temporarily remaining in Turin, after reported interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, it did not make sense to pay for a player who was unneeded.

The report also claimed that Juve will try and lure the Los Blancos into selling the left-back by offering Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez with a €50 million offer but only after Sandro leaves or agrees to join another club in principle.

Marcelo has been linked with the Italian champions since the Old Lady’s €110 million signing of forward, Cristiano Ronaldo from Madrid.

The Brazilian played with Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernabeu, creating a strong working relationship on the left hand side of the field.

The 30—year-old currently earns €11 million per season at Madrid, so Juve would likely need to spend big yet again, to secure one of Madrid’s first team star.
