Transfer: How Juventus forward’s father blocked move to Man Utd

Moise Kean’s father has admitted he stopped his son from joining Manchester United several years ago.

The Juventus striker has emerged as one of Italy’s top young talents and is now finally set to move to the Premier League.

Kean, 19, is set to join Everton in a deal worth an initial €32million.

But it could have been different for the player, who nearly joined United in his early teens according to his father.

“I did stop his transfer at the time, his mother wanted to send him to Manchester [United].

“I said no because I wanted him to stay at Juventus and keep learning. He was not mature enough yet.

“To send a young boy abroad aged just 14-15 years old didn’t convince me at that time,” Biorou Jean Kean told Omnisport.

Kean scored six Serie A goals for Juve last season, despite making just 13 appearances and five starts.
