Transfer: Harry Maguire takes final decision on future with Leicester, chooses new club

Leicester City defender, Harry Maguire has told the club that he wants to leave after Manchester United’s £70 million offer was rejected, according to The Sun.

Maguire, 26, is United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top target to reinforce his defensive options next season.

The Forces are, however, holding out for a £90m transfer fee for the England international.

The King Power Stadium landlords are also in a strong negotiating position as Maguire signed a five-year contract extension last September.

United had an improved offer of £70m turned rejected by Leicester earlier this week.

The Sun reports that Maguire has made it clear to Leicester’s hierarchy that he wants to complete a move away before the end of the transfer window.

The player has made the choice of joining Manchester City instead of United.

Arsenal have also expressed their interest in Maguire but their £45m transfer budget rules them out of the running.
