Barcelona new player, Antoine Griezmann on Monday revealed that Striker Luis Suarez congratulated him after he joined the La Liga champions from Atletico Madrid.
The France 2018 World Cup winner, however, said that Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has not called him yet after his switch to Camp Nou.
DAILY POST had reported that Greizmann earlier this month joined Barcelona in a €120million deal from Atletico Madrid.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday ahead of Barcelona’s pre-season friendly clash against Chelsea in Tokyo, Griezmann was quoted by Mirror UK as telling reporters: “Messi has not called me yet, but Suarez did.
“He congratulated me and welcomed me to Barcelona.
“The group received me really well and I’m very happy to share a dressing room with them.
“I hope I can help them as much as possible.”
Griezmann, during his unveiling at Barcelona, declared his eagerness to play with Messi.
The 28-year-old said: “I am excited about seeing him.
“Playing alongside Lionel Messi will be a huge pleasure.”
