Transfer: Fekir finally opens up on failed move to Liverpool

Lyon’s Nabil Fekir has insisted he has “totally come to terms” with his failed summer move to Liverpool and admits he doesn’t know the reason it collapsed.

The France international was on the verge of a £53million move to the Reds in June, but negotiations came to a complete halt due to doubts over the 25-year-old’s fitness.

It is understood that medical complications arose after a lucrative five-year deal had been agreed.

Fekir has now admitted he has put the failed transfer to bed.

“Yes, I have totally come to terms with the failed transfer to Liverpool,” he told Foot Mercato.

“These things happen, it’s just how it is. We have to move on, it’s well in the past now.’

Asked why the deal broke down, Fekir replied: “I heard lots of things, the real reason? Only Liverpool know.”
