Transfer: Everton take final decision on signing Diego Costa

Writer's picture: AdminAdmin

Everton have played down reports of signing former Chelsea striker, Diego Costa, according to ECHO. Reports emerged in England and Spain yesterday that the Spain international was heading back to England. Everton are not looking to make a move for Diego Costa, according to the newspaper.

The Atletico Madrid striker was linked with Everton after it was claimed that that the club owner, Farhad Moshiri wants to explore signing him.

Everton want to add to the forward line this summer but talk of a move for the 30-year-old has been played down at Goodison.

And with the club needing to reduce their wage bill, a move for Costa would go against that clear transfer strategy.

Everton have not ruled out adding older players to Marco Silva’s squad.

But they don’t intend on splashing the cash in order to do so.

And so the club have poured cold water on talk of signing Spain international, Costa.
