Arsenal’s new Technical Director, Edu, has held talks over signing Gremio winger, Everton Soares, GloboEsporte reports.
The Gunners officially confirmed Edu’s appointment earlier this week and he has taken up his role following Brazil’s Copa America campaign, where he worked as the general coordinator for the national team.
Everton played a key role in his country’s success at the competition and ended as the tournament’s Golden Boot winner with three goals.
Arsenal started talks over a move for Everton while Copa America was still ongoing and Edu was able to feed information about the player back to the club.
Edu spoke to the player’s agent Gilmar Veloz on Monday, before he travelled to England to discuss the potential cost of the transfer for Arsenal and a bid is now imminent.
