Transfer: David Luiz finally takes decision on Chelsea future

Chelsea defender, David Luiz has finally decided that he’s staying at the club to fight for his place under new Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri after a tough period of being coached by former boss, Antonio Conte.

Luiz, who has been linked with a move away from the West London club following an unfortunate spell under Conte, is confident he can thrive better with Sarri.

The Brazilian’s relationship with Conte deteriorated after a 3-0 defeat by Roma in the Champions League last October.

The center-back went on to appear only twice in the English Premier League for the remainder of the season, with one start.

The 31-year-old, however, insisted that he will not be forced out of Stamford Bridge.

Speaking about his future at Chelsea, British outlet, Dailymail, quoted Luiz as saying: “I came back to Chelsea to stay here.

“When I took my decision to come back here from Paris it was to win the Premier League and to do something again with Chelsea, so I am very happy here.

“I love this philosophy. We play high, with a lot of possession of the ball, in a technical way. He is trying to help us every single day to learn his philosophy quickly, to do our best for Chelsea.

“We are trying to train really hard every single day, double sessions, to learn quickly. We’re doing that every single day. A new philosophy always takes time.

“But it also depends on us, if we are dedicated every day and doing things every single day in training, especially in this beginning with these friendly games.

“We are trying to learn quickly. It depends also on us.”

Luiz, whose contract with Chelsea will expire in 2019, has started both of Sarri’s first games in charge in the pre-season. Chelsea secured a 1-0 win over Perth Glory in Australia last week and drew 1-1 with Inter Milan in Nice on Saturday.
