Crystal Palace have entered the race to sign Ismaila Sarr from Rennes as Wilfried Zaha’s replacement, L’Equipe reports.
The 21-year-old winger is likely to move, before the English transfer deadline today (Thursday).
As of Tuesday a deal was imminent between Rennes and Watford for €30m plus €5m in add-ons, with the player set to earn €350,000 before tax per month with the Hornets.
However, Rennes President Létang has delayed a deal, having wanted €40m and knowing that Premier League clubs will only become more desperate as the clock ticks down.
Palace, who have decided to sell Wilfried Zaha, have sent in a bid of around €30m excluding bonuses, less than what Watford is offering
Zaha has submitted a transfer request, as he seeks to force through an exit from the club.
