Transfer: Conte gives update on Lukaku’s planned move to Inter Milan

Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte has claimed that the club are not close to signing Manchester United forward, Romelu Lukaku.

Lukaku is keen on a move to the San Siro and has been left out of United’s opening two pre-season friendlies.

The Red Devils value the forward at £75m and will not agree to Inter’s offer of a loan with an obligation to buy.

On the eve of Inter’s clash with United in Singapore, Conte disclosed that the club are still some way short of signing Lukaku.

Asked if he’s frustrated by the lack of progress, Conte replied: “Frustration is a big word. Lukaku is United’s player. I like this player, but also in the past, when I was Chelsea’s coach, I tried to bring him to Chelsea. But today Lukaku is a player of United.

“I think that in this moment you’re talking about a player of another club and for this reason, it’s right to not talk about Lukaku, because he plays for United.

“And, as I said before, for sure I like this player and consider him an important player for us to have a good improvement, but at the same time there is a transfer market and we know very well this is our situation in this moment, we will see what happens.

“Now, for sure Lukaku is United’s player.”
