Transfer: Chelsea young star battles for No10 shirt with Willian

Representatives of Chelsea winger, Callum Hudson-Odoi, have asked that the player be given the No10 shirt at the club.

This is despite Brazilian star, Willian, claiming that he would take over shirt left by Eden Hazard.

Willian, who signed a new two-year deal at Stamford Bridge this week, claimed that he had been offered the shirt, having worn No22 since he joined the Blues.

Manager Frank Lampard, however, said there had been no decision made over who would take Hazard’s place as the No10 following his move to Real Madrid.

Speaking to Desimpedidos in Brazil, Willian had said, “I was offered the number 10 jersey ahead of next season and I will take it.”

However, Evening Standard Sport reports that, as part of talks for a new five-year deal at Chelsea, Hudson-Odoi’s representatives have requested he be given the No10 shirt.

Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard, however, said that “There’s no confirmation on that decision.

“It will be taken in due course. Hopefully his [Willian] return to training date will be early August.”
