Train and trailer loaded with passengers and goods collided on Tuesday in Birniwa Local Government Area of Jigawa on while on their way to Nguru in Yobe State.
This was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence corps, Jigawa state command, SC Adamu Shehu while speaking to DAILY POST.
He explained that the incident happened at Birniwa Railway Station junction yesterday at about 9556hrs when a train with engine number 2305 and Trailer with plate no ( KMC 320 ZQ) collide, on their way to Nguru Local Government Area of Yobe State.
He said that the trailer was fully loaded with goods.
Adamu Shehu said the train had 11 carriages loaded with goods, while 4 carriages contained 330 passengers, 1 VIP carriage contained 32 passengers.
He noted that no loss of life or injuries were recorded at the time of filling this report.
Finding by DAILY POST reveals that the driver of the trailer and two other persons in the trailer sustained injuries and were at Birniwa Hospital receiving medical attention.
