Tragedy averted as JTF escapes bomb attack in Kano

Tragedy was averted Thursday morning in the ancient city of Kano as the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) escaped a bomb attack at Hotoro Eastern bypass during an early morning routine patrol in the unrest city.

The incident, a security source said: “an improvised explosive device was thrown at the moving vehicle of the JTF officials this morning”.

He added that ” the substance was intercepted by a gallant officer who quickly threw it at the attackers and it exploded within seconds”.

It was gathered that the officers escaped unhurt with the patrol van.

Eyewitness said some people were arrested at the scene of the incident.

Police spokesman, ASP Magaji Musa Majia who confirmed the incident declined further comment on the matter, adding that the command will issue a statement in due time.
