Suspected Fulani herdsmen have killed a senior staff of the library Department, Delta State University, Mr. Sunday Idama.
He was allegedly murdered in his cassava farm in Ovre-Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday.
The brutal murder of late Sunday Idama came after Messrs Philip Akpine, Francis Okotie, Sunday Couple, Sunday Eyabigun Akpovena were also separately reportedly slaughtered by the Fulani herdsmen in their farm lands.
The late Sunday Idama, 50 years old, left behind fourteen children.
The member representing the people of Ethiope East Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Evans Ivwurie while reacting to the incident said,” my people are defenceless and vulnerable to this menace. The herdsmen’s escapades and atrocities against my exposed constituents, include killing and kidnapping, maiming, raping and attacking them”.
Hon. Ivwurie appealed to the relevant security agencies to visit Ethiope East forests and investigate the activities of the criminal elements, as well as bring them to justice.
