A trader, Mrs Yemi Adebayo, at the Akure Customary Court has sought for the dissolution of his eight year-old marriage with Mr Adesola over threat to life.
The petitioner told the court that the respondent was hell-bent to kill her and their two children.
She gave an injury instance, with photo evidence, when he pulled her hair after dragging her on the floor before she could rescue herself by hitting him in the head with a phone.
She also added that the respondent was into promiscuity which had produced five children without her initial knowledge.
She decried the respondent’s refusal to adhere to pay her bride price which emanated after confronting him with extramarital affairs.
According to her, the respondent has not been paying the school fees of their two children.
She therefore prayed the court to divorce the union which according to her had collapsed a long time ago, pleading that the children should be in her custody.
Responding, Adesola, a Mechanical Engineer, admitted of his extra marital affairs which was caused by the petitioner’s unyielding attributes and admitting his refusal to pay the children’s school fees because of their slow academic stance.
He added that the petitioner had no respect for him, but turned him to garbage and beating him often.
Ruling on the case, Mrs Olayinka Falodun, the president of the court, told the two parties to bring two witnesses each in the next court sitting.
Falodun urged the respondent to allow the petitioner to take her remaining belonging from his house.
She admonished that they should allow peace to reign for the sake of their children’s bright future.
She therefore adjourned the case till Oct. 20 for continuation.
