Tony Elumelu donates N100m to help fight Ebola

Chairman of Heirs Holdings and  one of Africa’s most influential business leaders, Tony Elumelu has joined the growing lists of Nigerian billionaires who have contributed financially to the fight against Ebola outbreak in Nigeria.

The renowned economist through his  Tony Elumelu Foundation has committed N100 million to help fight the scourge.

50 percent of the fund has been reserved for Nigeria while the other half will be spread across Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Liberia.

The fund, according to the foundation, will be used to equip medical teams and the general response to the disease in all four countries.

Only last week, Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dagote patted with N150m dollars for the same venture.
